When looking at your "Network and Sharing Center", what does it say where the arrow is pointing?

Robert hi.. when I was connected to the internet and going all over the web..just using the Laptop , moden and power to the laptop yesterday.. my connection looked very much like the above screen shot.. only thing was different was in the middle top of the connection...I have what looked like a park bench .
I suspected it might. We will want to change that, eventually, and Barman can show you how later. It is in your best interest to follow one adviser at a time and only make one change at a time. So for now, as Barman is intent on diagnosing the wireless connection, stay with that process until solved before going on to something else.

Robert thanks much.. then I 'll follow Nigel now... until we can get this corrected..
    Thank you so much.

Ok what we need to try now is go into the router control panel - and on the security screen set the security to none - you may need to let the router reset.

if connected disconnect the cable between the router and the laptop

once you are set there - go into the network security screen in the laptop and also set the security type to none. - you may need to re-boot the laptop

hopefully when re-booted the laptop will warn you about connecting to an unsecure network - if so accept this.

let us know if this works :)

you can leave the desktop connected, and use this connection to make the change to the router.

once that is done make the change to the laptop security settings and re-boot - see if you get connected

Ok thanks.. will see if I can do this..
I should end up on the page where we made the chnages last week..
then go from there .. I recall using the Belkin link.. thenI clicked on my numbers on that page.. that brought me to the page.. as mentioned above.
I'm not sure of the exact steps we took.. will see if this works.. I'll get back to you as soon as possible
I'll see if I can do this alone.
