    InPrivate Filtering (IE8)

Every time I restart the browser the InPrivate Filtering gets disabled even if I had it enabled on the previous session. Is there anyway to fix this?

Also if you add a lot of rules to the InPrivate Filtering list will it slow down the browser?

Yes, adding rules will slow things down considerably. Pages will take longer to render.

    Hello Firestrider,

You might use this Internet Explorer InPrivate Browsing shortcut instead to help make it easier to open when want.

    Hope this helps,

Thanks Brink, but I was hoping to use the InPrivate Filtering in regular browsing mode (which seems to work)

You may only get InPrivate filtering when you have a InPrivate Browsing window open though.

EDIT: Works in either normal IE window or IE InPrivate Browsing window.

When I import an XML file to InPrivate Filtering in Manage Add-ons and then press Ctrl+Shift+F, all the rules that were imported are effective without going into InPrivate browsing mode.

DOH, you're correct Firestrider. I do not know what I was thinking of at the time.

There doesn't appear to be an option to have InPrivate Filtering stay on past the current session. Even the Reopen Last Browsing Session option does not have it on when it was on in the last session. At least none that I can find yet.

I believe there is a registry hack for InPrivate to stick. I was listening to Windows Weekly and they came across this feature.

Creating a tutorial now on this to keep Inprivate Filtering On (Auto), On (Manual - Choose), or Off at the start of each new Internet Explorer browsing session.

I'll post back shortly with the link to it. :)
