Hi, a good website to have a look at would be Share Files and Printers between Windows 7 and XP - How-To Geek ; it has a very detailed guide on how to configure both computers to get them sharing files and printers over a network.

If this fails to work, which can be the case with these temperamental machines, especially over wireless networks, and if both PCs have bluetooth you could try transferring it via that.

Hope this helps, Oli

As long as they are on the same workgroup it should work fine. I had no problems sharing between XP and 7.

Hi jonty789, just to let you know how you mark threads as solved on this forum as well as the uses of the other buttons.

To the top right of this post you will see 3 icons. An orange (+), a set of scales and a red and white warning triangle.

The orange (+) or blue (-) denotes whether a user is on or offline (orange = on, blue = off)

The scales are used to give rep points; click this button if someone has helped you significantly or solved your queries.

The red and white warning triangle are used to denote either an abusive post OR to mark a thread ad solved (just put solved in the box that comes up and the admins or moderators will mark it solved).

I'll mark it solved for you this time.

Oli
