Wireless Connectivity - Can't get the hotkey's to work

Hello,

I tried talking to toshiba, but they just keep telling me to download drivers that don't fix the problem.

I have a Toshiba NB205-N330BL "netbook" which came with windows starter, but in upgrading to win 7 ultimate the wireless "hokey" got turned off, and now it won't work to turn it back on.

I'm rather knowledgeable about computers, but I'm only just starting to get used to windows 7's admin setup.

Here's the deal, the computer recognizes the wireless card and has all of the proper drivers installed. It knows it has wireless capability, but like I said, during the install the computer "turned off" the wireless, and now the hotkey to turn it back on does not work, hence the "Wireless Capability" is turned off as phrased by the Windows Network Diagnostics.

Is there a back door way to manually "turn on" the wireless? I'm sure there's some line of code or something in the command prompt i could do to simulate what the hotkey initiates.

Again, the card is enabled, and all the drivers are there, the computer just thinks the wireless is turned off and the hotkey to turn it back on does not work. And I'm about at my limit in my google research.

Anything you could do would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

do all the other hot keys work? If so you could always remap the wifi key to another ine.

They are hit and miss... Typical monitor out, brightness, audio, num and FN lock work.

How would I remap the hotkey to the wireless function?

Ok... solution found.

I resorted to a fresh install and when install had unpacked everything and did it's first reboot, I went into bios and disabled the WAN. Then, before doing updates, I installed most Toshiba proprietary software, got the Flash Cards program working properly, then i went back in the bios and re-enabled the WAN... worked like a charm.

Thanks for taking a look at it anyways!
