    Network Ignorance Personified

    Hey all--

Soon, I'm going to be hooking up the HTPC to my WRT54g via ethernet.
Right now, it's a wireless connection, but i would like to see what a fast connection does.

My question is this: How do I disable the wireless connection and allow the ethernet to assume the network....protocols?

What do I need to do to configure what sounds like an easy connection easy?

    As always..thank you.

I suspect all I need to do is plug them together.

Go into Network and Sharing Center>Change adapter settings

Select the wireless connection icon, go up to Disable this device.
Select the wired connection icon, go up to Enable this device.

    Should work.

Oh, and then plug them together!

#EDIT#You should probably re-boot after the switch, sometimes settings can get hung up.

If you have probs, someone can help
