    I booted back into XP and ran the Network Troubleshooter, and it seems to have found a couple of problems but I'm nit certain how to deal with them. The first is:

    DefaultIPGateway = 192.168.2.1(Same Subnet) (FAILED)
    Pinging 192.168.2.1 with 32 bytes of data:
    PING: transmit failed, error code 31.
    Reply from 192.168.2.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=0
    Reply from 192.168.2.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=0
    Reply from 192.168.2.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=0
    Ping statistics for 192.168.2.1:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 3, Lost = 1 (25% loss)
    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms
    The second:

    IPAddress = 192.168.2.4 (FAILED)
    Pinging 192.168.2.4 with 32 bytes of data:
    PING: transmit failed, error code 31.
    Reply from 192.168.2.4: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=0
    Reply from 192.168.2.4: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=0
    Reply from 192.168.2.4: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=0
    Ping statistics for 192.168.2.4:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 3, Lost = 1 (25% loss)
    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms
    I'm sure that these are clearer to someone other than myself.

    Turn off all your firewall/antivirus software. Go from there.
