Windows 7 Ultimate x64 can't share printer with XP mode

    Hello.
This is my first post. I have read many on here but none have really helped. I have just upgraded to Win7 ultimate x64. I was using the KonicaMinolta PagePro 1380mf on my vista machine prior to upgrading; however, this company doesn't provide x64 drivers.

I installed the XP drivers in the XP mode (local printer) and set it to share. I also released the printer in XP mode so that it was made available to Win 7.

The result is that Win 7 see it by name but it doesn't recognize it as a printer and I certainly can't do anything with it from Win 7.

I obviously would like to use this printer from Win 7 and would like to know if this is possible. If so, if someone could provide a stepwise procedure for doing this, or at the very least, a link to a previously discussed one. If it comes down to a driver issue (i.e. not having a x64 driver for the printer), then perhaps I'll need to get a new printer. This would be the worst case scenario.

Any help is appreciated. I apologize if such a problem has been discussed before; however, as I said I really couldn't find a perfect solution. Thanks

    Hi.
Well, I'm using homegroup on Windows 7; however, I don't think such a thing exists with XP. If it does, I would appreciate any information.

    Thanks

Hi drjordens. Did you finally sort out the driver issue with PagePro 1380MF?
