    Primary Domain

Good morning, has been a while since I have been on here.

I recently deployed a Win7 Enterprise machine to my boss. Upgraded from XP. Installed the OS, joined the domain, installed the apps, etc..

Has been running fine for a few weeks now however, yesterday morning he came to me saying that he is getting an error to the affect of - "Failure to attach the workstation to the primary domain"

Here is the kicker, he leaves the office and takes it home. He did not open it last night and when he comes in and plug in the ether he gets that error. When you take the ether out so it is not trying to use it to login, no error and goes right to the desktop.

then he plugs the ether in and all is good.

    Any help would be appreciated!

My guess would be a DHCP issue. How long are your leases?

We do not use DHCP addresses here, everything is static.
So when he comes in and connects the wire he cannot login but as soon as the ether is unplugged he can login and get to the desktop with no issue.
