    Windows Firewall & VPN

My VPN connection is only working when my firewall for Home and Private Network is turned OFF!

It was working earlier with fw turned ON but for now on is not ...
I tried to open port 1723 but nothing
Then I opened all ports from 1-65535 and still nothing

result -> my VPN connection is workin only with this fw turned off

it's PPTP VPN connection and I'm really frustrated beacuse it was working earlier ...

do I maybe, when i open port on fw, restart pc or what?

Is this an incoming VPN connection? Or an outgoing?

Check your firewall rules, the outbound one... Make sure that there are no rule that's blocking the VPN dialer

One problem with attempting to set up a VPN manually is that not all security perimeters will be set correctly and certain required ports will not be open.

If you use the built in GUI they will be opened up correctly. For that reason it's best to follow these tutorials in order to properly set up a VPN connection.

VNP and Windows Firewall - Client Side

    Hey Guys,
This is a VPN question concerning the windows firewall on the client side. When I connect to our VPN from any client with the windows firewall turned off, I am able to browse to our file server with its name (\\psiserver1). With the firewall on, I am unable to navigate using the sever name. I am assuming that I need to open a port on the client side to allow this to work but I am unsure of which port to open. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
