    network not letting me share


    i have 5 pcs all running windows 7 ultimate on my network through a d-link router, 3 are wired and 2 wireless. 2 of the pcs are only on when i use other 3 on all the time one of which has my printer connected.
    my problem is
    i can see the 2 other pcs ( ones on permanent) but it tells me i cant connect to them?
    also cant find the printer?
    any ideas welcome

    Are they all part of a 'Home Network' within Windows 7? Is Network Discovery turned ON? (in Advanced Sharing Settings)

    Just as a suggestion, the two machines that u cannot see: are these the wireless ones? If so, can u test under wired Ethernet and post the results...at least we can start narrowing down the problem.

    Make sure your anti-virus programs aren't blocking connection/sharing. I don't have either one of those programs, so I don't how to help you configure them.

    AVG is famous for causing sharing problems. Uninstalling AVG usually fixes the problem.
