    Automatic Remote Desktop Connection Attempts

    I've been really bothered by my computer lately. I'm the type of person that likes to know everything that's going on inside my computer and keeping everything running smoothly just the way that I like.

    The problem I'm having is that a pop up message from the taskbar will appear at random times with the message title "Remote Connection" and message being "Could not connect to [random IP]". I saw this message very few times before and never really payed much attention to it, but recently it's been popping up while I'm using my computer. I've attained 3 screenshots from the messages I was able to catch because they usually pop up for a few seconds and they are gone. If I click on the message, it just disappears, and the message isn't attached to any taskbar icon. It appears over the arrow to show more taskbar icons.

    I was able to catch the following IPs: 217.131.65.184 (Turkey), 190.158.94.219 (Colombia), 92.81.34.179 (Romania)
    I've looked in the even viewer but it doesn't bring up any information pertaining to this. Since I'm not too familiar with the local and group policies, can anyone help me out so that every event could be logged so I know what program is causing this?

    I've run full computer-wide antivirus, spyware, and malware checks and they came up empty. EsetNOD32 and SuperAntiSpyware were used. I've run a highjackthis but I didn't see anything suspicious.

    Anybody with any information, please help.

    Also, this may be unrelated but the event viewer shows Apple's Bonjour Service erroring out like crazy. They're all task scheduling errors, yet I can't find where Bonjour is being called in the task scheduler.
    These are the continuous errors:
    Task Scheduling Error: Continuously busy for more than a second
    Task Scheduling Error: m->NextScheduledEvent 3026
    Task Scheduling Error: m->NextScheduledSPRetry 3026
    The 3026 number increases an amount with every attempt. This will occur for 6 attempts, then it will retry in a few hours.

    In the same boat

    I can't say that I've gone through all of my firewall logs, but I definitely have the Bonjour problem. Checking my computer's error logs, it looks like the Bonjour service problem started on 4/17. Can you check yours and see when yours started?

    Mine started as soon as I installed iTunes. I would just remove the service if I had no need for it, but I use the Remote app on my iDevices to remotely control my iTunes and they use Bonjour.

    So you just installed iTunes? When, exactly, did you install and get this error? I've been doing some more research the past few hours and am trying to get a clear-cut picture on this...

    You may want to spend some time with Process Monitor and see if you can trace the origin of the pop up.

    Process Monitor

    I'm not real expert on the tool, but it should be able to capture the events and give you an idea of what is calling them. Read through the help to figure out how to use it.

    Good luck and let us know what you find.
