Internet Spiking, no suggested solutions have worked
I just found this forums, hello to all!
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit.
I also have DSL. I am wired directly to the modem to my motherboard.
When I press CTRL+DEL to view the task manager, and go to networking, my network graph is constantly between 1.9 and 2.5 usage.
My internet speed tests are also atrocious, 500kbps-ish
We have 3 PCs in the house, none are downloading anything or are in use. My PC, when connected, bogs the entire internet connection down so its barely usable. When it is disconnected, the internet connection is fine for all other PCs.
Our wireless is password protected as well.
I have reset the modem, tried several different cables.
I had the house completely rewired by Frontier, our DSL company. Got a new modem.
I have run Norton, eset, and AVG. Nothing serious to fix.
I have updated all my drivers for my motherboard.
There are 2 Ethernet ports on my motherboard, either one does the same thing.
I have disabled one or the other as well.
This happens frequently, sometimes for days my internet will be fine, but loose connection, and I have to unplug my Ethernet cord and plug it back in. Sometimes it will be fine after I do this.
Sometimes it spikes like this for days. It is completely random.
I have no clue what to do. Can you help me?
Thanks.
