Windows 7: Abit IN9 32X Max LAN & WLAN + other

Abit IN9 32X Max LAN & WLAN + other

Further to this post Abit AirSpace Wi-Fi on x64 which has been quite helpful until now i need to start a new thread so there is no confusion about my current issue

OK so i have the Abit IN9 32X Max 680i mobo + Fresh install of windows 7

My problem lies with both Ethernet LAN and the Abit Aripace wireless card (bundled with mobo)
Upon completion of installation of 7 it is set that you must manually install drivers for the air pace wifi card with the Atheros drivers within windows 7... they work well but there is another problem.....
after sending windows to sleep mode and then waking the pc up the Airpace card is no longer detected....
it is no longer listed in Device Manager and can not be recovered by means of scanning for hardware changes.... the device just is not there any more!
To get the device back and listed again i have to make a system restart

I have tried everything i can think of but uninstalling and reinstalling drivers but only with the same resulted, i have even unchecked allow this device to put into sleep mode but without success

Now while experimenting with the card and drivers i have also noted that there is no Ethernet device.... "nothing" no restart fix the device just does not exist according to window... both Ethernet LAN devices are present and enabled in BIOS but windows not not detect such devices
This now leads me on to the fact that there are many other devices related to my chip-set that are not being detected
I have downloaded the latest nForce drivers direct from nVidia (15.53_nforce_win7_64bit_international_whql) but they are no use since the devices do not exist thus can not be installed

If i uninstall the only network device then reboot the device detected it listed as Ethernet however the only driver that will be accepted is the Atheros drives listed in the link above

Abit seem no help and have not updated any drivers since 2008 so you can see im a bit scuppered

Sorry for bumping.... i know its not to be done but this thread hit page 3 without a reply and id rather see if there is a fix before i shell out £100+ on a new Board

In the mean time can someone take a peek at this mobo ZOTAC NF780I-A-E LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard and let me now by comparing my current specs that every thing checks rite
I want to take everything from my current system and place on this new board...
As far as i can see everything is compatible and should swap over

Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1

OK, it seems that the Airpace wifi card was conflicting with the on-board Ethernet..... i removed the wifi card and windows then detected both Ethernet ports and SMbus
Now the only problem i have is with the wifi card, it seems to be detected as an Ethernet card rather than a wifi card which brings the problem with detection on boot and return from sleep mode
As far as i can understand it detects the wifi card as a removable device or something similar as windows makes the "Device Disconnect" then "Device Connect" sounds wich i find odd since it permanat device connected via PCI-e mini port
I can use several Atheros drivers and or a unofficial Abit driver but the device still acts the same way
It is starting to bug and annoy me even though its a trivial problem so i hope someone can help

Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1

I wanted to update this thread for those who are still experiencing problems with loss both LAN ports for a possible work around that has worked 100% for me
As those who know the LAN disappears from device manager after every reboot and can only be reinstated by a total power down of your system (unplug from wall)
To get the LAN to work flawlessly every time:

1: Download 15.51_nforce_win7_64bit_whql.exe from Nvidia
2: Power down from the wall supply (switch off all power) then resume power on
3: Run the Nforce driver to extract all the drivers taking note of their location (usually C:\Nvidia) then cancel when extraction is complete
4: Open start and type "devmgmt.msc" without " and hit enter
5: with Device manger open locate the LAN ports in network adaptors (nvidia Nforce 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet)
6: Right click the LAN port properties / Driver tab/ Update driver
7: let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer then click have disk
8: Click browse and locate the extracted drivers (C:\NVIDIA\nForceWinVista64Eng\15.51\Ethernet\nvfd6x64.inf)
9: click ok, then ok again then next (windows has successfully updated your driver software) Close.

All being well the LAN devices should now be called Nvidia Nforce networking controller & Nvidia Nforce networking controller#2 and you should now be able to reboot at any time without risk of losing your Ethernet ports

P.S i ditched AirPace wifi card for a TPlink
P.s.s, if this solution works for you, please register an let us know

Windows 8 32 bit

I have the same problem with the exact same Motherboard but on windows 8...

The thing is when I power down the machine and unplug it completely and power it on, I see the network adapters but it always says network cable unplugged. The LED's on the Ethernet ports are not lighting up either.

If I power up normally I don't see network adapters but the LED's blink on the Ethernet ports.

So I can see either the network adapters or the LED's blink but I can't get it to work. Very frustrating...

I tried the drivers you recommend but it didn't work either. Any suggestions?
