    Ad-hoc internet connection sharing problem

    Hi guys,

I have a problem setting up ICS on windows 7. I tried to setup Ad-hoc p2p connection and it worked fine, however when i clicked on "Turn on internet connection sharing", it says "you don't have enough privileges to configure internet connection sharing".

I also tried to manually start the ICS service but with no luck. An error msg pops up "The internet connection sharing (ICS) service on local computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs" I also checked to see if all the dependencies are running, but still to no avail.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks :)

I agree that manually configures network sharing can be a pain in win7. What I used to simplify this long processes is by using a free software called Connectify (the webpage is connectify.me, I think). Google it and download this small software, you will see how wonderful it works (sorry, I am not advertising for it, but this is my personal favorite one). Hope that it helps

thanks for the reply :) I also thought that third party software would solve this problem. I'll try this one out and post my comments after. Thanks again :)

Ohh this is sad ... connectify is not compatible with windows 7 starter at this time. Maybe i'll try to find other alternatives. Suggestions are gladly welcomed :)
