    wired and wireless connection

Is there a way to make windows 7 turn off the wireless adapter when it sees the wired connection when the laptop is put in a docking station or a wired connection is made?

Hi bigdogy2k welcome to the forums :)

Although I don't know of a way to do this (I'm afraid ) I tend to find that with my PC, if a wired connection and wireless are made at the same time, the wired connection will take preference anyway. Hope it helps :)

I agree windows uses the wired connection based on a tracert, but I would like to find a way to disable the wireless connection when the wired is active. The problem is DNS is not properly registered when both connetions are still up. A ping by machine name yeilds the wireless IP address. I feel this is going to cause support issues in a corporate environment going forward not to mention the same machine will be connected to 2 VLANs.

Yes, I'm looking at connection managers and I'll review this one. I was hoping for a way to do this within W7 and having a seperate connection manager.

    Thanks

If you go to the control panel then to credential manager, you can choose a connection and edit from there.
