I can agree that its definitely not about torrenting or router.. without torrent on, and by just opening windows live mail caused me a connection drop.. its getting very annoying, dont you guys think so? just hope someone could come up with an solution fast..

the error messsage i keep getting is "the default gateway not available". hope this extra info helps. it's getting more persistence in dropping my connection.. :'(
man, this just keeps getting more interesting... two days ago i was about to start blaming live mail for this. I thought "no, certainly MS would have these two "paired up" up right. " and "i'm sure alot of ppl are running this as well, why just me" but you are the only person to have said this, besides one other person either yesterday or possibly monday mention they had live mail running... i never did ask them if they keep it running constantly, like i do, so... i will now ask you... and if anyone else reading this and experiences this problem AND have live mail running, please respond.

I have yet to install office on RC just yet, and like i did with the beta, i installed all the MS Live stuff, just to see how it would act, and act vs the beta and so on.

the next question on this concerning live mail that i forgot to mention is, do you have a google account that live mail checks... as i have suspected if not the program then this account is causing this... i have returned many o imap errors before, but didnt know what came first, the imap error or the loss in connection... interested in responses

ok... well, i'm gonna go back to the drawing board ... i cant have this happening here, even at home, let alone anywhere else... online tests and all kinds of stuff besides some download that could be resumed or whatever... i first have to blame my driver here as there is no 7 driver, just vista... but not the case for the laptop, 7 installed one for the beta and RC, doesnt mean awhole lot, but could mean everything as well. Thats where a fault/crack may begin in my case... atleast i'm kinda hoping/banking on it... but i may have to fold this hand if it lasts much longer. Minding you still that mine is a wireless issue, just to keep things str8... i'm just trying to see if and what could be a correlation between the two.

did you try checking for new update?? cause i am guessing it's not just us that's having this issue, so MS probably updated some patches or updates to fix the issue?

LOL!! my connection just dropped!! not something i should be excited about..

am update-a-holic... constantly checking cause i have mulitiple devices that do not have drivers yet... i'm still waiting patiently (since MS did fix a webcam by logitech on laptop that originally didnt have a driver at all in beta and got feedback on it), but patience is wearing thin ... and the no feedback on this non existing driver, is starting to make me think that its just not my driver, its something deeper... but its been a week, i believe it took 2 weeks before the camera worked so, i'm a fair person

i seriously do admire your patients.. :) i was having that problem last night and i was really close to reinstalling my vista.. :P like you said before "i cant have this happening here, even at home, let alone anywhere else..." the problem is just so bad that everything today is online, and connection drop is the worst thing you ever want..

how do i check if i have the correct driver installed? how did you figure out your system doesn't have any driver?

well, first thing i noticed was that it didnt work at all, that goes for most of the devices. Second, device manager is one of the first things i check after a fresh install, along with updating and a few other things, then reboot and see whats working, what was supposed to be working, what was just issued a new driver, is it newer than previous beta, if so, am aphrensive about installing it especially if device worked just fine before. And on down the line.

alright.. i thought there is some path i should go to check for device driver.. the connection drop is happening persistently again.. an extra note: i actually upgraded from windows vista to save troubled, so i am guessing all my device driver is brought forward from vista..

notable info about the vista upgrade, but i assume this problem wasnt with your vista and everything worked ok? if so, then its not the vista "part" of it that i would lean towards as the problem at hand. I also take it that you didnt install the beta 7000? one other note, are you on x86 install? also by going into device manager, what ethernet adapter do you have? find that info out and download a driver from manufacturer, if they dont have a 7 driver, try a vista driver and install the setup with vista compatibility. depending on adapter there may be more than one driver to try, or maybe just one.
