Yah, well so far anyway this seems to be a fix.. I downloading the nForce drivers from nVidia's web site and then ran the setup, de-selected all the other drivers other than the network card.. It updated the drivers which now show as nVidia as opposed to MS for the network card and knock on wood, so far so good.

my old drivers were nvidia's win7 x64 beta drivers from may. So they showed as NVidia. But i have rolled them back to vista 64 drivers. we'll see how that works.

I put my connection through the rigors of trying to watch 3 videos on ninjavideo at once while downloading torrents (usually, the combination of torrents and a single ninjavideo would nix my connection at least once every 10 minutes or so), and thus far, nothing.

It's too early to tell, but, so far, Vista x64 drivers for nvida nforce 6 series motherboard chipsets work better than the windows 7 x64 beta drivers for the same chipset. I will keep updating as things develop. fingers crossed, at least.

i am running, it shoul dbe mentioned, build 7100.

This is still a problem for me on 7232 x64 and Marvel Yukon onboard LAN. The latest Vista x64 drivers are more stable than the ones supplied with Win7 but it still drops fairly often.

so far the vista x64 driver is working stably for me. But, we'll see. Who can predict.

Whatever this issue is, i hope microsoft is aware of it. IF they are not aware of it, theyre going to get panned at release time.

What blows my mind is that of all the beta reviewers, none appear to have had nvidia chipsets...

cause none mentioned their ethernet dropping constantly.

None used to download with torrents, maybe.

I am still having this issue after installing the latest Vista x64 drivers, as well as removing the drivers completely and letting windows install the generic drivers, any suggestions?

Just to give more datapoints, I'm running Build 7100 and have also noticed these strange network drop-outs. I've had two different types 1) intermittent short 1 or 2 seconds hiccups where requests will hang and ping packets will either drop or had unusually long times and 2) issues where heavy network traffic will just cause the network connection to completely drop causing gateway errors and giving the yellow exclamation point on the taskbar.

It seems, and it's hard to say for sure, that this started once I did the windows updates and pulled down all the critical updates. I had the machine running for about 3 days with no issues whatsover. However, the problem is so intermittent that I can't be sure it wasn't there before and I just didn't notice it.

I have also done alot of troubleshooting including removing my WRT54G from the picture and connecting my machine directly to the modem. I have been able to see issues both on my LAN and directly connected to the WAN. At one point, I was able to consistently cause the connection to drop (i.e. yellow exclamation point) by running a bandwidth test on SpeedTest.net. The connection would come back after a minute or two and then another speedtest would cause it to drop again.

For the first situation I mentioned above, I actually had to reboot the machine to correct the problem (the hiccups but not lost completely problem). For the second problem, I can just disable and re-enable the network adapter.

So far, I have tried disabling IPV6 and disabling all power server/WOL options in the card. Nothing, so far, has made a difference.

What cable modem and isp are you using? Have you upgraded the firmware in the router? have you run a traceroute from you to who ever you use most (MSN?)

Hope this helps
