    new realtek drivers

    @ gazzasore:
realtek has just released new drivers for their ethernet products.
i had the ugly "ethernet-connection-drop" -problem all the time with my Windows 7-builds, even with the rtm.
now i installed the new driver today and until now all runs fine without errors.
i didnt even touch the default configuration of the ethernet card!
i am very happy with that, because the random drop of the ethernet connection is a great showstopper for my work with my machine!

    download the drivers here:
    Realtek

    good luck!

I have a 590SLI AM2 board and am having this happen to me when trying to upload work papers and so on. Any fix yet?

EDIT- Found the fix on another forum..

    LAN port configuration:
    Sleep on disconnect: enabled
    flow control: disabled
    interrupt moderation: disabled
    ip checksum offload: disabled
jumbo packet: 9014 bytes (this might have no effect for you)
    ALL large send offloads: disabled
    BOTH low power: enabled
    network address: not present
    priority & vlan: priority enabled
    receive side scaling: disabled
    speed/duplex settings: auto
ALL TCP & UDP offloads: disabled
    vlan id: 1
    ALL wake ons: enabled
    THX This worked for me..
I had the same problems "ethernet-connection-drop" with my onbord ethernet connections on EVGA 780i Mainboard and Win7 64bit Build 7100.

    Update: New Realtek Drivers

I installed the new Realtek drivers posed on 8/13 (version 7.5.730.2009) for RTL81XX family motherboard LANs a bit over a week ago (see post # 299). Since then, I haven't had a single disconnect, whereas, before, I had been averaging one (or more) a day, through version after version of Windows 7 (32 bit).

I Started getting the same disconnection issue on my clean install when I installed firefox, both 3.0 and 3.5 had the same problem, uninstalling them fixed it.

Well, not that I'm all that eager, The problem will probably be gone by the time final version is shipped out to stores, just gotta be patient for a couple more months and stick with IE, well that's for me at least.

I'm not sure any of this will help anybody, but I'm using Win7 7600RTM upgrade install and clean install, yes dual boot.
I also use "Primary Browser IE8". No problems on either system.
If i install and start to use any of the other browsers,
    1. Opera - instantly I have EM problems, multi pages of the same web page start to load.
    2. FireFox - wow, pure crap, I loose so many IP's contconfigure correctly or NO DNS - simply 100% CRAP, almost every forum i visit is FAILURE to resolve.
    3. Chrome - wow, internet reverted back to pre 56k days. The slowest browsing I have seen in many a day.

Solution on each problem.... control + alt + del stop the browser exe, yes kill it... then open IE and slam bam internet was instantly back.
tested on both Clean Install- full activated and upgrade full activated version... IE8 works the other Browsers and (100% crap) failures .

then i'd change the do not allow NIC adapter to shutdown to save energy.
I always uncheck that and have NO problem with wakeup.

Just to add another data point, I downloaded and installed the latest driver package from Realtek and have not had any slowdown or drop out issues in the 3 days.

A word of caution, when I downloaded the "driver only" package and told Win7 to Update Driver it told me I had the latest version, even though the Driver Version listed was clearly different.

Using the installer package upgraded the driver and seemed to fix the problem (fingers crossed).

well, i have the same problem as you guy and have done everything u guys had mention here. Using IE8 - not working, firefox same. CHanging the value like above, none happen... My system is going well now except for the part that I keep having internet drop down. Because I live on Uni Campus, and I have go through the uni proxy, I need to refresh a page every 15 mins to have my internet working, but this droping make it unable to load therefore I cant play online game like war3 since, i will jsut lag out before the net start working again. I did update every driver including the lastest realtek driver on their website after a clean installation. Hope this will be fix soon!!
