Hi guys, flicked through a lot of this thread but found nothing that would fix this for me. Eventually I resurrected an old thread on my regular haunt and was given a solution. Thought i'd register and post it here for people to try: Windows 7 no internet connection on boot. - Overclockers UK Forums Using services.msc i disabled Bonjour DNS service (comes with Apple software, presumably iTunes).
"type in services.msc in the search box and hit enter if you have an entry something like ##Id_string1.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5B... then double click it to open its properties on the General tab, change startup type to Disabled now reboot and see if you now connect to the Internet on boot"

I too joined this forum just for this topic.

I fixed my problem by updating the driver for my network controller. nvidea (for my mb) came out with new drivers about 2 months ago. very easy fix. shoot me a message if you need help.

Ran through Britomartus's steps, and so far, it seems to be working. I've bookmarked the site, and will come back if I see the problem again.

Note: updated to the latest drivers did NOT work for me. I had already tried that prior to finding this site.

Edit as of 1/1/10 - I have not had any more issues with a dropped connection. Thanks Brito!

Thought I'd trow in my new problem here, not sure if its connected with yours but, it might help add to the pool of information.

I have a problem where every little while my internet will stop working, and when i say internet i mean WWW, regardless of the browser i keep getting a message to check my router and connection, though the strange thing is that only browsers are affected by this problem, either insanely long load times or no connection at all, while torrenting and online games work flawlessly without ever losing the connection even for a second.

And just in case someone feels like asking, Yes, I am absolutely certain the torrent app is not active when these problems are happening to the browsers.

    My browser is Firefox 3.5.7

I am having the exact same problem as above. While whatever browser I am using lose connection, online games keeps working. A reboot fixes the problem temporarily, and then it re-occurs.

Same problem with me. I have an Asus P5K SE and it uses intel's P35 chipset, not nvidia.... It happens mostly when streaming video from pc to PS3 player.... My on board network card is Atheros L1 Gigabit Ethernet

Tryed everything posted, (Ipv6, RSS,...) nothing worked, so I decided to install the network card driver for Windows Vista available in the motherboard's website.

    It seems to have worked.
So don´t trust Windows 7 driver for your network. Try the manufacture's website.

Ok so Ive had this problem on and off for about 2 weeks now. Internet connection will randomly drop doesnt really seem to be linked to any specific actions. I dont torrent, mainly just play online games.

I have a nvidia 650i ultra mobo, and was previously running the nvidia control module for the networking, and have removed that in an attempt to fix the issue. I have followed the instructions Britomartus suggested and had the same issues. I have tried updating my mobo driver to 15.51 and then another forum suggested using 15.25 (the vista driver) and still have the same problem either way. Ive tried forcing it to run full duplex 100mb, disabled the ipv6 net connectivity. And still have the issue randomly, anyone find a fix for this yet? Or any other suggestions? Thanks!!
