    Adhoc problems

Basically long story short, my laptop no longer connects to adhocs (P2P) networks yet still connects to the internet through wifi.

I've been trying to run a LAN game for CoD all day since I finally got lvl 55 >.>

    So any help guys??

oh and my OS is windows 7 32-bit :)

*** another fact. i can setup my own adhoc but other users can't connect then***

You may want to consider using a program such as Connectify.

Connectify simplifies the whole business of ad hoc networking while allowing you to both be connected to and host a different WiFi hot spot at the same time.

There is also a dedicated ad hoc mode.

Connectify - Turn your Windows 7 laptop into a Wi-Fi Hotspot

I would also post a link to a driver update page but your System Specs aren't accurate enough (there are several dozen variants of the HP Compaq CQ50), if you aren't sure what model you have use a tool such as Speccy.

If you want to find the WiFi driver yourself look at Compaq Presario CQ50-100 Notebook PC series - Download drivers and software - specify product name - HP Business Support Center and download an appropriate WiFi driver (the most recent one).

Install both the networking drivers from Compaq Presario CQ50-100 Notebook PC series - Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center.

Be sure to post back whether or not you get it working.

This seams strange and more likely to do with corrupt/infected system files.

Please first run Malware Byte's Antimalware and see if it finds and removes any Malware.

Then open an Elevated Command Prompt and run 'SFC /SCANNOW' without the quotes and see if it finds any problems.

Crikey! Do you have an Antivirus installed?

If you don't get one now!!

I would recommend Microsoft Security Essentials because of its freeness and its small footprint. http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/
