(notice in the taskbar) that such is being done. when all is done, it will popup your device is installed and ready for use. Notice I did say DELETE not uninstall. There is a difference between the two.
well, not in my case while atleast on 7100... even after a reboot it would install my usb adapter driver, that i had to manually install to begin with. I did this thru DM, and the checkmark box delete driver.. didnt delete after uninstall, nor after boot. It would find it again without my help and install it. Only then if i went and found and manually deleted myself would i then have to reinstall myself after a reboot.

Sorry about 7100 RC having that problem. I am using v.7127.
so I have to assume that is one of the difference in the two versions.

no sorries needed snuffy... you are correct as they changed the tickbox, no longer there now in the 27, i noticed this as well... but yea, this was a dingy of an issue on 7100. i had been one of, having the inet connection problem, and 27 has seemed to fix that as well. So i tried everything and noticed alot with my glued eyeball on this adapter, and the behaviors surrounding it... and not deleting the driver was a little shocking to find out... more of a PITA, cuz it took me 4 tries before i realized this and had an eye on the actual driver file itself while the operation was in progress, and also after reboot and the auto install of.

After a few days of this, I finally deduced that this happened after the system went into sleep mode. After disabling sleep mode, I stayed connected for full 48hrs, until I finally rebooted. Here's how to disable sleep mode:

  1. Go to Control Panel - System and Security - Power Options
  2. Click "Change plan settings" (I have the "balanced" radio button selected)
  3. Choose "Never" for "Put the computer to sleep"

Not sure how to fix it, if one wants to maintain in sleep mode, but it's still a fix of sorts.

i found the solution to this last night after weeks of struggling with it:

right click on the yellow triangle by the network icon in your taskbar.

click on "open network and sharing center"

> "change adapter settings"

> disable your network. wait a minute, and then re enable it.

your network should go back on in a few seconds.
