Cannot get Windows Fax & Scan to save to network folder

I want Windows Fax & Scan to automatically save scans to my images folder on my server instead of the documents folder on the c drive.

I click Tools > Scan Routing, then tick use network folder and put in the location \\SERVER\Photos\Scans\ but it comes up with the error message \\SERVER\Photos\Scans\ is not a valid server share.

Cannot get Windows Fax & Scan to save to network folder-capture.jpg

If I just use \\SERVER\ then it works but it's no use if they're not in the right folder.

    What is wrong?

Have you tried mapping the network drive, then selecting the new "drive" as your destination folder?

    Use a network folder

I am currently having the same problem. I have mapped my network location, have pasted this path to the "use a network folder" of windows scan and fax and I still receive the same error message of "s:\\shared documents is not a valid server share"

    Can anyone help?

I found that when I get on the server and create a share of the destination folder, not a sub-directory of a shared folder, it works.
