    what modem/router?
So far I tested two modems, BELKIN and D-Link, this change/test was suggested by my ISP, but it didn't change anything.
Modem is reset, speed drops, the only way to restore speed is to issue command 10.1.1.1 and re-save setting (without changing anything) and then modem resores connection with the internet and speed is OK.

I don't think it's modem, as computers running XP on the same network don't do reset modem.
Only his one machine does that.

Are the two different modems stand alone from the router, or is the router build into them ? What is the make & model of router if it is a different unit ? Possibly need a firmware upgrade ?
This is combined modem/router and the firmware is up-to-date (installed two days ago).
Why do you as ablut modem?
It works fine with other computers (XP-SP3-PRO).
Also, the other computers have the same motherboard, the same processor and the same 4Gb memory.

For me it look like this is bad combination of Win7 and this motherboard.
I installed/tested the same version of widows7 on anther computer (older motherboad) and it's OK.

    ???

    Does the modem/router manufacturer have a Tech/Help phone # ?

I hope some other members read this thread for some input.

    Sure seems kind of strange.

I'm pretty sure the modem manufacturer (Belkin) has tech-support option, but how iit is relevant to my problem?
It is working with all computers on the network, but one .... and that one spoils everything ..

Is it possible that I am having problems with losing my default gateway setting every time I rebooted and that results in reseting the modem?
And if YES, how to fix it?
