    Networking Windows 7 and Vista

    Hi all.
I am currently about to go COMPLETLEY bald!
I am trying to network 2 computers (one with windows 7 and the other vista, obviously)
I have read everyhting i have found on the internet about what to do and how to do it but nothing seems to help!
I previously had the computer with 7 able to see vista but not the other way around, HOWEVER, now that has dissapeared!!!
In addition to file/printer sharing, i would like to be able to connect the second computer to the internet through the first, again, i was able to have the internet connected to the computer with 7 on it and vista could access it, but if i swap it over the same does not apply.. and for no reason.

    CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP?
i am nearing throwing both computers onto a highway!

    Let's start with file sharing:

(This is for both machines) Open an elevated Command Prompt:

    Type

    Code:
netsh advfirewall firewall set rule group="File and Printer Sharing" new enable=Yes
See if that gets your file sharing working.

Does the part in bold mean that you aren't using a router and need to use ICS to network both of those machines? You can also try turning off password protected sharing in the Advanced sharing settings window.

You need to have the same account and password on all machines for this to work. You must use a password, unless you want to disable most of your security.

Sure that will work. Then you can map a drive and it will re-map every time you reboot. (unless the other machine is off) :)
