WebClient Service Disables on computer sleep

We use Network folders heavily at our company to get quick access to files on our Sharepoint server. It works fine until my computer goes to sleep. Particularly when I come to work in the morning.

When I leave the office at night, I lock my computer (Ctrl+Alt+Del > Lock). Eventually, the computer goes into Then when I come back in the morning, I unlock it again. Every time, I notice my network folders are not working. Then I notice, the WebClient Service is Disabled. At this point I am basically hosed. I have to reboot. Even restarting the WebClient Service will not solve the issue.

In fact, if I come in the morning and try to open a Network Folder using File Explorer, it will do bad things to my machine....File Explorer will have trouble displaying ANY drives on the computer...I just get the green scan bar, and the spinning circle.

This is very hard to test because it only happens after a long period in locked mode.

I've done the regedits for Webclient. I've been looking all over the web and can't seem to find a solution.

thanks, in advance, for your help.

    Matt

Problem solved. Apparently there was a company network policy that Disables WebClient.
