How did you install 7? upgrade, clean? did you use 7 to partiton/format the drive/partiton before install or did you use XP/Vista or a 3rd party app?

sounds like a corrupt install and/or failing drive.

first i would recommend doing some tests on that hdd, second i would try to repair the install using Repair Install

Lastly, and probably the most likely thing you will end up doing, is to do another clean install on a hdd that you know for certain is in good shape, and to use 7 to format/partition during setup/install.

I've probably installed it every different way possible but I didn't really check the hard drive. I will though. Thanks again.

just a word of advice... use a couple of programs... i have had windows find problems where other apps didnt, even manufacturer's software... and vice versa, have had 3rd party app report bad sectors that windows didnt see either. When you have "two sides" reporting back as good, try a 3rd app just for good measure.

This is still a beta, arguably.

i just remembered the app that was recommended to me from whom i forget to give credit to. This was the one that found errors on the system drive that windows didnt report itself. Tho i have found it to report well on other drives attached that are going bad, and confirmed by others.
