    7 to 7 Printing

    Hi Forum,

I hope someone can help with this problem because it is really frustrating!

I have two identical PC's both running Windows7 Professional (bought at exactly the same time etc) I have installed locally on one PC a Dell V105, shared it out & have installed the printer on the second PC as a network printer with no error messages.

This is my problem, when I try to send a print job from PC2 to PC1 the print job just sits in the spooler & goes nowhere, it simply won't print! Yet the PC with the printer installed locally has no problem printing, as would be expected!

Network discovery etc is all switched on, I have enabled & disabled the Firewall, re-installed the drivers, re-started the print server - so I am totally stuck.

It's the usual Microsoft issue, new O/s & printing across a network won't work until at least a few updates! arrrrrrggggh!

Anyone got any ideas how to solve this problem!

Solved the problem in a very old fashioned way.......

Installed the printer as a local printer, then re-installed over the network et viola network printing the old fashioned way!

Wtf Microsoft, sort this issue out its been there as long as I can remember, 98, 2000, XP etc. I thought by Win7 you'd have got a grip of network printing!
