    windows 7 folder permissions

    Hi all,

I'd like to allow users to only append and read a text file stored in a folder.
Me (administrator) would be allowed full control.
So no delete, and no replace for anybody else.

Is this possible in Windows 7 Pro?
    Thanks.

It should be possible by using the permissions for SYSTEM settings. You can give "read and execute" permissions to "Everyone" by just checking it and then unchecking "modify" "write" and "full control".

The link below shows you how to use the permission settings.

    Thanks for the response chev.

I created a new user account, and then allowed this new user to "read and exec" and "write", but not "modify" and "full control".

Then, from this user account, I was able to copy and overwrite the existing file.
I need this user to only be allowed to append, but not erase, delete or overwrite existing data. Is this possible?

    Thanks.
