I installed wireless select switch vista32&64bit driver,

Same here folks...I have a Compal JFT02 and apparently Compal hasn't released an updated driver/app for win7. I just leave it on all the time now (including my bluetooth)

Hey.. I had the same problem (bluetooth working, wifi driver installed but cannot turn on wifi since Wireless select switch utility didnīt work).. this is what helped me (Have FL90)

    Compal FL90's Tumblelog

First, if there is an "unknown device" in the devices list, use the Windows 7 driver (The hardware device which physically turns on or off BT or Wifi is called Compal Embedded Control) - This was my case

Then (or) get the WLSS 2.0.0.2 and install.

Worked for me (build 7600). Cheers, MishaCze out.

I want to say that you have my dearest thanks...I have successfully installed the Wireless Select Switch on my Compal JFT02. I don't know how or where you found this fix but you are a lifesaver!

    Chris

By any chance would you know how to get Smart Battery to install on Windows 7 for JFT02/JFL92/90 series would you?

Hi, nope, unfortunately I do not know.. to tell the truth I do not use it anyway :/ I tried now to install it anyway and it installed (1.0.0.10) but it doesnīt seem to work ( selected the 50 % charge option, unplugged, let the laptop consume some of the power and plugged back.. the truth is that for a while it was really plugged in and not charging, so it seemed to work, but after a while it began to charge.. maybe this is caused by high state of battery when tried to charge.. about 96 %.. maybe it has to be charging from low state like 10 % and only then the application can stop the charging at certain percentage ). But it seemed to install, no error etc.. even the hardware button glows :/ maybe i might give it a try to drain the battery to low and then see if it charges only to 50 %; Iīll let know when done

So.. tried and smart battery does not work.. started charging at approx 40 % with SB set to charge to 50 %, now charged 70 % and charging ( so it does not work unless it is meant to look like 100 %.. which means it then it should be measurable by battery life - approx one hour instead of two.. maybe out of curiosity I will try this influence but not now I guess)..

I actually made a How-To for the WSS based upon your solution...that way any compal folks who drift here will be able to get that sorted out

I wanted to get smart battery to work so the last unidentified device in my Device Manager would be solved

All of the links in that post are dead, I tried googling for the driver and its nowhere to be found, on the compal website I can get wss 2.0.0.2, but they do not have the driver. Anyone know where to get it? Edit: I found it finally, for anyone interested its at: Forum Karen Notebook S.A. :: Zobacz temat - Problem z Wireless Select Switch na Windows 7 x64 ROZWI?ZANY
