Is anyone really surprised the 7 out sold Vista so fast. Vista had poor reviews even before it came out. 7 was already being called the greatest OS of all time by some shortly after the RC was released. There even people installing it on 10 year old computers with stock parts and reporting that it ran fine with all the bells and whistles disabled (but why would you want it like that?).

I will admit, that Vista x64 on at least 3GB of RAM isn't bad at all. Even a Vista basher like me wouldn't mind using it. But my cousins computer with the almost the exact same specs as mine except Vista 32-bit installed on it, has always been slower than mine. Whether is was XP, 7 32-bit, or 7 64-bit on mine, her's always runs slower in general. The OS is the only discernible difference.

Is the Vista basher aware that 7 has also been called Vista SP3?

Are you aware that most people that call it that are Mac fanboys?

Nope. I am not even aware of what a Mac fanboy is.

I certainly am! It was Steve Jobs himself that kicked that one off, calling Windows 7 "just another Vista". It was to draw attention away from the fact that he was about to announce Snow Leopard, which really should have been Mac OS X 10.5.9, not 10.6. He had to make it sound like MS didn't come up with anything new, in order to disguise the fact that Apple didn't come up with anything new.

I love when people use that argument to justify not getting a new version of Windows. Even if it were true, SP3 would be superior to SP2, would it not?

I never understood why any body used Vista. With all the problems I read about Vista I jumped over it and went to Windows 7. Microsoft

IMHO Vista was / is a very good OS. Don't believe all you read. There are lots of people out there who purchased Vista on a new computer with the recommended specs who have never had any problems.
    Bad news is always newsworthy.......

My Vista Ultimate laptop is still my "work horse." My Win7 Ultimate currently languishes. Yes I know that will change.......but I do love my Vista OS.
In my experience Vista's most virulent critics are those who NEVER used it.
I agree with you there about vista. Very good os when run with correct hardware. I never had any probs once I tuned it properly also! :)
