My NOD32 licence expires in May 2011. After that, I will probably install MSE.

uninstall superantispyware & Avira or just turn them off?

MS video says uninstall, but maybe can just turn off those two and put them on run only on request instead of automatic on. or do they have to be killed dead lol

Uninstall them using the manufacturers' uninstall tools. Just turning them off does not work; there are still parts of the programs that load. Here is the tool for uninstalling Avira > Info > Tool

@jorpe:
That is a pretty good combination for both efficinecy and cost.

I myself went through the really bad times with both McAfee and Symantec. Originally started with McAfee, then switched to Norton when McAfee became a hog. I remember the good old days when Norton was just Norton, and a pretty good security suite to have. Then came Symantec and Norton became an even dirtier hog than McAfee.

That led me to switch to AVG, then Avast! and now MSE.

Symantec and McAfee may be over the terrible 90's when they were just about the worst thing you could put on a computer, but I for one am not willing to trust either of them again.

I am currently running MSE 1.0, and am completely satisfied with its performance. Windows 7's own firewall is pretty good to me too.

I just installed the 2.0 beta...believe it or not it seems a little faster still. Has anyone seen any problems with the "beta"? MSE and Outpost seem to be made for one another. No problems or conflicts to this point.

Boastree, the only problem with the beta, is that sometimes, when upgrading from 1.0, the context menu item does not appear (i.e. you can't just right click a file to scan it). If you are having that issue, let me know and I'll tell you how to fix it via command prompt.
