Thanks for the welcome. Writing this from Windows 7. I've been lurking for a few days, and yes, lots of great info.

I have loaded my browser and mail client and that's about it - I loaded the M$ KB and FP software, but the first time around the FP software didn't take - I am trying ti again with compatibility turned on....

Bah, I have 32 bit builds.....

Feh - in spite of me moaning and complaining about my Fingerprint reader not working in 64bit, I'd rather have a 64bit OS....

6 months of running 64bit has spoiled me rotten lol

I got build 7000 running, but I'm noticing something peculiar with Windows Explorer. If I put in a CD, DVD or Blu-Ray and then click on the drive in Explorer, instead of exploring it or launching it, it labels it and tries to create a writable disc.

I was able to browse to the drive through control panel to install drivers from a disc, but never could just explore a disc.

I have had the same thing happen with mine but I have also had it happen on Vista, there is a fix for it but I can't remember what it was, if you just click on OK it will come up with a message telling you it write protected and then the second time you click on it you can access the disc normally, it have something to do with autoplay settings or something like that.
