I want a 4D desktop - a true immersion into a Virtual Reality. I jack in and away I go.

Oh, BTW - this is coming from Build 7000 - but I had to kill my OC to make it work - it simply would not install with my OC in place....

Heh - all good - I am going back through RussianHAXOR's (aka [p]wner) guide to OCing and I am realizing that a mod that I made to my mobo, just a fan replacement, really, is making my MCP temps appear a lot lower cause of the reversal of air flow as well as the fan being plugged into the Aux power port, resulting in the fan blowing a lot harder (and consequently louder) and keeping my MCP cooler than stock, which means I need to apply the heatsink mod to get lower temps. Then I need to re-evaluate my methodology of OCing - I have avoided like the plague using Linked/Sync'd, but this time I am going to try - having my RAM at stock speed is not as important as having the OC max OC'd, and *hopefully, I'll finally figure out that my 3.375 is not the main wall, but just a wall before a latent hole....

I may not have a TRUe, but I *do* have a Tuniq Tower 120, arguably the *second* best LGA775 cooler on the market at the time, and quite possibly, still one of the top three today, especially in its price bracket....

    Hi John,

I have mine Linked/Sync'd at a very stable 3.8Ghz 1600FSB all my voltages (aside from the RAM which I set to 2.2v) are set to Auto, Core voltage is at 1.32v in CPU-Z and I left speed step and all that sort of thing at default, Temps are at 32c on idle and 45c Max

Mine won't do that - I can get 1500 (375 x 4) FSB easily, but it peters out on stability, because Prime95 / Prime95 x64 locks the machine up hardcore 10 minutes in.

However, I am beginning to think that it might actually be my RAM - Though the RAM is set to run stable at factory specs at 1000 MHz 5-5-5-15-2T timings, my motherboard has official support for 533 / 667 / 800 / 1200 speeds - I haven't tried OCing the RAM to 1200, but if it runs stable there then I'll start experimenting with the CPU OCs, possibly a 3:2 ratio (600 RAM : 400 x 4 CPU) and see if that makes the OC more stable.

I cannot believe that after all this time I am only now thinking it might be my RAM, the whole time I have had the machine I thought it was a CPU Wall (which, it still may be).
