I remember using Foxit for a while and found it annoying.
Nitro and PeaZIP were the last two major changes I made to my software configuration, and I have never been more satisfied

Isn't the reason we "know" about the security problems, is because Adobe tells us about them? How confident are you that your alternative programs don't have security issues, and you just don't know about them?

Another attack on Flash has been announced by Adobe.

Adobe - Security Advisories: APSA10-03 - Security Advisory for Flash Player

May be fixed the week of Sept 27.
I have just stated using a FF addon call QuickJava which has buttons on the Status Bar to disable/enable flash and others on the go.
