That would be the Compatibility View option. As far as which becomes default when going to open either the 32bit default or 64bit IE 8 the IE 9 beta opens automatically being the one IE available.

They switched things around now seeing the home page button as well as the Favorites and IE Option menu opened on the right instead of left side until you have the menu bar enabled. https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...ar-always.html

There's no mistaking which one opens when clicking on the IE icons!

My use of IE in the last few years has been about zilch.

    Here's an interesting review:

UPDATED: Browser War 2: IE 9 Beta 1 versus Firefox 4 Beta 6

    Most important comment:

But speed isn't everything -- usability is equally, if not more important
    Another review:

    Internet Explorer 9 Beta review

Please, these are not intended to continue the browser war, it's just some site's review and opinion.

So much for a look at that one!

    "Server Error
404 - File or directory not found.

The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

    "

That came up instantly. You may have to re-edit the link back in to correct that if you can still reach the page.

As for browser wars? naaaa... I solved that by having them all installed or all available until settling for several still on here. And now I have the IE 9 beta on as well.

    Fixed,

That's the best way, get them all.

I usually have minimum of two, try others from time to time just to check them out.

Have you noticed that Chrome is slower on this site, or is it just my internet connection?

IE9 is much faster on Seven Forums, for me anyway.

I haven't had Chrome on now for some time. But what I find often is that either the site or your ISP's own traffic will have more of a beering regardless of which browser is used. Of course this being a "7" forum in particular we have to expect the MS stuff would tend to work better!

A few more screens like those can be seen at Internet Explorer 9 Beta: UI Smackdown - PCWorld

As far as broken links I've run into that enough times. But with the beta now out the word gets around fast everywhere!

    Just found another little tip.

To close any tab, hold curser over it and click your wheel.

    Top keyboard shortcuts

In Internet Explorer 9, some of your most frequent and essential tasks can be accomplished more quickly by using the keyboard.

Alt Show the menu bar. After you make a selection, the menu bar goes away.

    Alt+M Go to your homepage.

Alt+C View your favorites, feeds, and browsing history.

    Ctrl+J Open Download Manager.

Ctrl+L Highlight the text in the Address bar.

Ctrl+D Add a webpage to your favorites.

    Ctrl+B Organize your favorites.

You can also opt to go into the Tools>Internet Options>Tabs>Settings and simply select the option to have it set for "open all popups open in new windows". Here I simply uncheck the box for enabling tabbed browsing and won't be running into that type of problem.
