It's 3:10am in San Francisco. In our time zone, IE9 beta downloads should go live in between 1am or 2am.
Anyone know what time the UK will get it, or is it just America???????
September 15 has been broadly accepted as the release date for a public beta. Will this happen or won't it?
San Francisco is also supposed to be the launch venue but everything has gone quiet on this.
Any thoughts?
Internet Explorer 9 to be launched tonight
Hi there
there are only 2 possible outcomes for this
It WILL be released or it Won't be.
I still don't understand what the whole fuss is about anyway -- these days speed of internet browsing depends on so many other factors such as server speed from host site, your own ISP speed, what scripts are being run etc etc that the actual part the browser plays in all this is really over exaggerated.
In any case once the browser has to run 3rd party add ins like Flash then it really doesn't have total control over how fast it runs in any case.
This to me seems like the dying vestiges of a 20th century piece of software making excuses for itself in a 21st century world.
I'm sure 99.99% of users would much rather the browser incorporated a decent virus blocker than all the other "features" you could think of.
If you don't use the net you don't need AV software so why shouldn't the AV software be incorporated into the browser --makes perfect sense to me.
Cheers
