    Windows 7 Box Art revealed?

    Posted: 12 May 2009

I was wrong. The leaked images posted yesterday on CentrumXP.pl portraying to be the Windows 7 retail box art and packaging are indeed real. The undeniable evidence ironically comes from no other than Microsoft employees, on a Facebook group they’ve set up.
The group “Windows Lounge” is a private Facebook group reserved for Microsoft employees to learn and discuss Windows 7. Understandably, the group admins have uploaded a banner to formalize the group but probably did not realize that even non-group-members can too see the image. An image that gave a little too much away.
In the spirit of hitting two birds with one stone however, not only is the box art now confirmed but the official Windows 7 mark or logo is also revealed and confirmed to be an artistic-variant of the Arabic numeral “7″ with a not-so-subtle lens flare effect. The internet will now judge.
Update: There is some speculation that the images may be just concepts in an ongoing design process, which I certainly hope is true. However, rumors of where these images leaked from is usually not a place where you would find unfinalized concepts.

Awful if real, but I suspect 'FAKE'

The 'perspective' is way out on these images for a start, but let's just see :)

I dunno, it looks pretty cool to me. I like the green. I can't wait to see how Ultimate will look.

EDIT: Link opened for me, Ultimate looks great!

That is the ultimate on the right I think.
I reckon they are fake. They just don't look proffessional enough.
Anyway I'm more concerned as to how many GBP it's gonna cost me.
I imagine they'll do some kind of upgrade from Vista deal.
By rights those of us who have beta tested Vista x64 since the beginning should get it given free.

if they're real then it looks like they might stick with the bird logon screen as it resembles the home premium box

I don't know, I think they look alright, although probably not far enough from the Vista boxes as MS would like

Most of us don't have any packaging for our software lol so what does it matter?

Now, a bedroom poster of Win7, that's a different story

    lol!

No, those are definitely fake. The perspective on the boxes are wrong. They look warped, and if you really look, it is an entirely different angle on the top than the bottom....

However, it does look good. It may be that those are fake drawings of the real design, in which case the design is real. Whatever. Looks good to me. Simple, and that is usually better... If only Yahoo knew that...
