Wow, I just thought of something. If you download a hard drive, where do you put it?

That's nearly as confusing as trying to get your head around the Terminator time paradox.

Maybe it would fit on a 5.25" or even 8" floppy disk?

This is exactly what AMD has been doing. Except not charging for it. Which I am guessing they won't charge for it anyways. Just testing the waters.

    Hi all
I'm sure the users of that well known site dem---id.com are well aware of the risks of gathering either information or software from that particular source are.

    A CPU is JUST THAT -- IT'S A CPU.

The OS writer can use ANY instruction set in the CPU's repertoire. OK the instructions have to marry up with the computer hardware such as say SET CHANNEL means that the computer architecture needs to have a channel bus to set.

Be VERY careful when reading information garnished from those particular sites.

    Cheers

Who will be the next to offer limited services without having to tip them. Do you want to put your car in "D", well you just have to pay us $500, or.....well you get the idea.

This will not cost Intel anymore money to produce, they are artificially limiting what you can do with it. Now if they want to charge an extra $50 to unlock the multiplier that would be a legitimate business practice because you are getting more for your money instead of being held hostage for the right to use the hardware you paid full price for in the first place.

I'm sure many people will disagree with me about this but I am tired of being told that these companies deserve to make more and more without having to provide return on the investment. Next they will start charging us so that they don't slow our current existing cpu's down through the drivers.
