Sounds like this guy is talking rubbish.
Source: Neowin.net - Microsoft: Hardly anyone plays first-person shooters on the PCComing after his prediction last week that Kinect will "blow away" iPad sales, Microsoft's Kudo Tsunoda expressed his opinion on the current state of PC gaming. Speaking in an interview with Game Informer, the Kinect spokesman stated that "hardly anyone" plays first-person shooters on the PC today, with console-only titles such as Halo: Reach.
"Halo did an awesome job of building a first-person shooter exclusively for the console, and now hardly anyone plays first-person shooters on the PC anymore," says Tsunoda, when asked what he thought of Kinect implementation into future games. "If you think about the way that first-person shooters evolved, they started on the PC. People for the longest time tried to port shooters from the PC onto the console."
Kudo continued to compare Kinect to the introduction of first-person shooters to the original consoles. "And people said the same things that they are saying now about Kinect – 'It's never going to be responsive enough to do this,' or 'You're never going to get a fun first person shooter on the console' – it's only made for a keyboard and mouse and that is the way it is supposed to be played.'
"And as long as everyone was just porting the existing shooters over to console, they weren't as fun as the PC ones. Of course, they were built for the PC." Kinect for the Xbox 360 is set to hit stores shelves on November 4 in North America and November 10 in Europe. The device carries a $149.99/£149.99 price tag.

His remarks are a bit over the top. I would say that gamers used to play alot of PC games because the graphics and sound were so much better than on console, but now that the consoles are getting so much better (PS3, XBOX 360), I could see PC gaming going out in the next 10-15 years.
Win7User512 I somewhat disagree with you saying about 10-15 years...
If you were in the Gaming Business Industry would you let that happen? NO way (It's mu guess), because when you bought PS3, you bought it and play all PS3 games, with PC it's always upgrades, plus PC cost more...
I think PC Gaming will exist alongside with consoles... I might be wrong, time will tell...
I suppose I mean that I can see the two merging. As consoles are offering the same capabilities now (broadband internet, entertainment, etc) they are increasingly becoming integrated. Sony said years ago (I think when PS2 came out) that they sought to be the center of the home entertainment experience; which could include PC experience.
I mean, look at what people do on phones now (web, talk, IMs, video, music), Apps--almost like a PC.
But like the post above said, time will tell.
civ v is going to remind us all why we game on pcs...
(i hope)
I dont know about anyone else but as far as first person shooters go... i would take a mouse and keyboard over any controller anyday, doesnt even compare in my opinion.
As far as graphics go i think consoles are kinda falling behind because of how fast PC hardware evolves. They would have to come out with a new console every other year to stay ahead of PC's graphics wise. Not to mention PS3 and xbox 360 dont even support DX10 more or less DX11.
Has anyone ever tryed playing a MMO or RTS game on a console? its lol compared to PC
