Once the 512GB drops below $200, I will be switching out my drives for SSD. Spending over a grand on just the drive is a tad bit outside my price range ATM.

Great technology, can't wait for the price drop

What about the RAM based drives? I forget what they are called, but aren't they already faster than SSD? I need a new hard drive when 7 goes final, so whatever is the fastest is what I am getting then, no matter what the $ is.

    Hello.

Wouldn't a "RAM" drive be volatile?

They are somehow always powered or something like that, I think they are just DDR2 dimms inside a box basically... or maybe its flash memory? I have no idea what it is.
