I've never understood why people have bothered to post/comment saying they will wait till final release. I mean do not get me wrong, that is fine and dandy but I'm certain a majority of users do not care to a point.

I'm not trying to be mean either. Just saying.

I uninstalled the beta version of Service Pack 1 and installed the Release Candidate version of Service Pack 1 and have so far, had not a single problem. :) I've even left the watermark there (Shocker!)

There are multiple files on the download page. Should I download the DVD ISO file only? Or should I also consider downloading the Windows Update sign up tool and Windows 6.1 (KB976932)? What should be installed first? second, third?

The ISO contains all three offline installers (x86, x86_64, IA64).

The offline installers (the .exe's that are not Signup Tools) are just the installers for whatever architecture you are running on. Choose the one that matches your installed version of Windows 7.

The signup tools just allow you to download the Service Pack 1 update through Windows Update.

So I'll only download the SP1 RC DVD ISO (1.8gb file) then. Thanks Steven!

That or you could download the x86 offline/signup tool .exe which would be a lot faster. :)

Takes a 2nd reboot after it's all done to show up.

Here's a little tid bit to consider before you do any type of pre-release/rc install. This could save from a lot of trouble down the road. Also I do not understand the concept of a pre-release. They will come out with the final version in a little while so to speak. And another thing about these sp1's and sp2's and so forth....they to me seem like all the updates released to date rolled into one large lump some to download. Just keep up to-date with your system updates. Here's the link to read up on this pre-rc.
