Windows 7 Student Discount Expands to 11 Additional Countries

    Posted: 03 Nov 2010
Giving is always better than receiving, and today I’m happy to announce the extension of our student discount on Windows 7 Professional to 11 additional countries – Spain, Italy, Ireland, Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Belgium, New Zealand and Taiwan (see availability dates and links to buy below).

The Windows 7 Student Offer gives college and university students the opportunity to purchase an upgrade edition of Windows 7 Professional for a significant discount. Students can choose to download either 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7, but make sure you check which version is supported on your PC before downloading.

For students, Windows 7 Professional offers a few handy advantages over previous versions of Windows, including automatic backup (and restore) of your work, the ability to set preferred printers on each network you join (useful if you work form multiple locations around campus), the ability to join domains (a great tool for internships and work) and Windows XP Mode, which lets you still use applications that only run on Windows XP. It’s also the version you’re likely to encounter after you leave university and join the workforce.

Students qualify for this offer if they have a valid e-mail address through a qualifying education institution and a PC that is currently running a genuine copy of Windows XP or Windows Vista. You can see if your PC is capable of running Windows 7 by running the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

If you’re ready to buy, the links below will take you to your country-specific site to buy. But don’t wait – this offer is only available for a limited time (varies by country).

    Italy (available now)
