Upgrades are cheaper than Full Retail or OEM

So, for 50 bucks I can upgrade and will not have to reconfigure all my programs and I'll be good to go? That's great if it works!Win 7 is working great for me and I just want to continue without having to reinstall and start all over...much too time consuming to reinstall all of my programs
It works, honest injun. Vista upgrade disks from BEST BUY ' Ultimate" was @259.99. you rec'd both x64 and x86 disk.
and as for "UPGRADES" I personally have upgraded every version from -clean install 7000 to currently 7137. It is easy. works perfect, I have NO PROBLEMs at this time... so 7000 clean, 7022 upg, 7044 upg, 7058 upgr, 7077,7106 upg, 7127 upg, 7137 upg. I also installed and tested the Pro-leak release via mod to Ult. open sources and read howto upgrade. it is on every leak and official release.

And if it does, MS will make sure it doesn't any more with all the talk about it here. Me, I don't care one way or the other. Being software contractor, I decided a long time ago it wasn't worth pirating. Nothing like a client's audit software finding pirated stuff on their network, and coming from your own laptop.

How can a UPGRADE Disk be considered Pirate Stuff, MS sells UPDATE copies from there WEBSITE.

The last time I used an upgrade disk not counting an XP recovery as well to see a full install was with an old 95 upgrade where you booted from a 3 1/2" floppy and selected the "start with cd rom support" option. And that was a move up from a set of 6 floppies for 3.1! still sitting in the case after all these years!

Even with the 98SE disk being a full version the boot from floppy was never sloppy!

This thread lost me half way through it.

I love the upgrade disks though, I had an upgrade copy of Vista Home Premium (x64) that I got from a friend that couldn't use x64, I didn't think I'd be able to use it but it works wonders for clean installs. =P

Same way for me - I have only did one clean install when I messed up a buld - my error, not Win 7.

    7100

I still have the 7100 build...it runs GREAT! Should I upgrade, or just wait for the REAL DEAL? And if I decide to upgrade...what do I need to do? Thanks!

I'm still running 7100 as well. I am going to wait for the RTM before doing a new install.

I agree. I think 7100 is as close to the release as I need to be. It runs very well, has corrected the bugs I experienced on 7000, and is stable.
