Wow, I didnt think Paul Thurrott as someone who wouldn't know what MinWin is... yet he doesn't have a clue

    Major changes:
Kernel. Windows 7 will feature an evolved kernel and underpinnings when compared to its previous-generation predecessors, Windows Vista with Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Windows Server 2008. While it's unclear whether the "MinWin" kernel that Microsoft demonstrated in 2007 will be included with Windows 7
I might let him know that MinWin is just the same kernel but modularized, Microsoft used the term MinWin to say the kernel is not linked into other components outside the kernel (like XP and all other versions of Windows where until Vista)

During the Longhorn beta Microsoft modularized the kernel by separating it from the Windows source-tree making the kernel miniature, very stable, flexible and reusable so they dubbed it MinWin.

yes i remember a forum was talking about it some time ago (when they still called it longhorn)....
Minwin is just term for the vista (i would call it vista tech... after all vista pioneered it...lol)kernel with no ui or anything resembling one....

but who would want that (i mean just minwin)???
i could see the advantage in servers with as little code as running as possible while still making it funtional....

makes me think of server 08 without UI...
    i love it.....
    cmd all the way...lol

    but i mean endusers???
i would rather take vista basic than minwin

oh and nice catch on the Paul Thurrott thing....
reread it again and was confused
he would of all people know what minwin is....
