    Was being the operative word. Call win 7 vista SP 3 if you must to salve a wounded ego but time marches on.

    While some see the value of Vista, it was the reason that I used Linux for almost two years ... Windows 7 was the reason I came back....

    At 1st Windows Vista was a pain for me. My brother build a brand new computer, and it had all the rights spec for windows Vista, expect it kept freezing on start up. He instailled XP back... and then i mucked it up while doing a system restore so he put Vista back on.... Vista worked perfectially after that and i fell in love with it. However i had a BSOD problem after it woke from sleep

    Not really - idle computers often make it harder for the devil to get down to business

    And I will be saying the same thing about win 7 no doubt. There were satisfied Vista users (more so after the SP's) but there were also a large subset of intelligent users who just could not get it to run on compatible hardware.

    Anecdotal evidence aside win 7 already has a larger turnover rate than vista.

    It is like cats and dogs, ATI and Nvidia, mac and pc. A holy war. Not many will change their minds and all are entitled to their opinions.

    For all those users that did not experience the agony I am glad for you.

    My tears of empathy hurt as well :)

    Oh, and a belated welcome to all XP forever! members

    Realistically, in the grand scheme of things - who really gives a bowel movement about whether you liked Vista or not?

    I've already wiped... I only stop by now and then to address the Klingons

    Which just goes to show that fools never learn.

    What's this 'were' business - there ARE satisfied Vista users alive & kicking.... & using Win 7 also!

    The large subset of "intelligent " users can't by definition have had compatible hardware. Compatible with what? {not with Vista}

    Anecdotal evidence aside win 7 already has a larger turnover rate than vista.
    Larger turnover is a result of dinosaurs too mean to buy Vista & stuck with XP until lack of support & disintegrating, obsolete hardware drove them screaming into a new OS /PC....

    Cats & dogs both have their place.... cats in dim sims......
