I had some BSOD issues with Kaspersky IS 7 but so far this new beta works fine, no issues yet to report.\

I had tons of problems with Kaspersky already on Win7 and just tried this and it installed halfway and sat there. That was great, after I killed it I got to do a system restore to clean up the mess it made so that I could have a working internet connection again.

Kaspersky sucks.

When I clicked the beta registration option it put a serial in itself.

The key put in there automatically I believe is for the trial period or something like that, the key I posted unlocked it for longer :)

I always hated antiviruses, they take up way to much processing power and they are generally annoying. They're basically viruses in my mind. I don't download a bunch of porn or stolen software all day so I haven't had a virus in years.

If you haven't been using a AV program for years, how do you know you haven't been infected?


Joking a side, I do agree with your thoughts on anti virus software and viruses to some extent. I'd like to have a "pure" AV software that ONLY protects against viruses, I HATE bloatware type of AV ( like Norton AV). I've read some tests and apparently Kaspersky is the one that uses the least of you PC's resources. I did a custom install and and only installed the features I wanted ( AV and malware protection).

In the end, I'd rather be safe than sorry...

Generally when you have a virus, you'll notice it. Most viruses are ad aware type, or spaming. They try to get you to buy their software, open IE all on its own, basically anoying.

There are other viruses that attempt to use your computer for illegal purposes... these can be dangerous but stopped with proper fire walling.

The only real virus i guess you could fear is a spying type of virus, which I guess i really dont know if I've had one. I regularly check my start up processes, in addition to everything that's running in the background.

Staying off porn sites and other silly sites is basically a shure fire way to not get a virus, I do torrent things, but I make sure and read up as much as possible, and I test them on a different OS before adding them to my current one. IDK, i just find it pretty obvious when or if there's a virus... I can confidently say " I havent had a virus in years..."

I put Windows 7 + Anti-virus into google. I clicked on the top hit which led me to a Microsoft page with Kaspersky Lab & AVG as clickable icons. This lead me to the webpage http://www.kaspersky.com/Windows 7 - from that point on I downloaded Kaspersky 8.0 beta - very interesting install - appears to be working good in my Windows 7 - 7000 install. God's Speed

I am using Kaspersky with out any trouble.
