I haven't installed kb971033, this is the only thing that will prevent me from installing SP1 unless I can modify the service pack

Personal choice, unless you're responsible for more than your own machine.

You can get as concerned as you wish, and it will change nothing. Especially when the basis of your reasoning is invalid and irrelevant.
To OP your conclusion is incorrect, and what is relevant is nothing will change.

I tend to agree... avoiding a particular up such as WAT leads me to believe you are circumventing the software some how and are afraid that if you accept an update it'll break your "hack"...

No, that is not it at all. Many people are concerned with HOW it works.
Bing search the REAL reasons why most do not want to install that Update.
It has nothing to do with circumventing anything. There are MANY other concerns as well.

I'll vouch for seekermeister's character

We need to move on instead of continuously attacking a person for not wanting a particular update. Tepid is 100% percent right, there are other concerns with regards to certain updates. I will also vouch for Seekermeister's character when he says it's not a pirate issue.

Continuous attack posts will be reported. Let's move on to more civil discussions.

Peace

Happy New Year to everyone

Be sure to have your images completed before SP1 is installed.

Take care and regards

I uninstalled anything bing when I saw it and moved on with life.

I have both kb2286198 and kb971033 and things are good on this end.

I'm looking forward to it more so because I'm a completist and I can add to my rig's image SP1. Windows Updates just take too long over the Internets.
