do we have to disable Windows defender?
I would say yes
If you look under the security tab in action center it says it's not good to have both running at the same time

Should I use this now or wait until the official beta on Tuesday?

It's completely up to you.
I've been using it for two or three days now and it's already blocked some stuff for me.
I personally like it.
There is an 'upgrade' feature in it to search for a newer version of the program, so it'll be interesting to see if it upgrades on tuesday or if this is the version they'll hand out

As redsox said, it is up to you.

I was originally going to wait but it seemed nice and had good reviews from friends of mine, and others in this forum. So I risked it and downloaded a copy and it is very very light-weight compared to other Anti-virus programs.

Will not be using any other AV unless MS steals this from me when I'm sleeping =P

Hey, Redsox, did you download this public beta or are you still using the one I sent you?

it's looking good so far. I'm using it on my windows XP machine 'cause for my W7 machine I have a 2-year-old license of Avira AntiVir Premium. but who knows, if MS AV beats Avira in AV's tests, I might use it primarily.
