Because I was doing other things, thought it was out, and didn't want to look it up

I also updated it and it didn't install any program updates, just definitions.

I see an update option for virus definitions, but I don't see one for the program itself. Where did you see this?

Click on the HELP dialog in the right corner -> Upgrade MSE

Actually, the http links i had are dead. Tell me which version do you need and i might upload it somewhere else.

I have only x86/x64 for vista/7.
