So after shutting down my computer and starting up again today, I can definitely say there are optional updates, as I just got a slew of them, for my monitor, MSSE, my ethernet, etc.
Thats what I was thinking. Optional updates should not be a part of SP1 since they are Optional. Are some of those also Recommended? My system shows 30 Recommended (not including Defender Definitions) and 4 Optional. Close to 200 Important which I assume would be included in SP1.

I think if I wasn't dual-booting on mine it might have gone OK. As the 1st OS is XP I seem to remember a similar problem installing a Vista service pack years ago because it couldn't find the correct boot files (Vista and later OS's use different boot files).

Hmm! I even went back to the original Google return and got the same response. Apparently, they removed the page...too bad, because I had intended to use it, after finishing my current chore.

When all you front runners finish with it let us "official" waiters know what you think? Not that I'm not going to install it anyway, just gonna wait till the official release hits Windows Update.

    Thanks
    I'm down with this

Im going to have to do a clean install anyway again new ram new mobo so it is obvious i don't need it as of yet but im sure it runs fine ussually in situations like this the update will be available the following week so no worries all ............

On my system, If I were to roll back from the SP1 RTM(?) here is a list of the updates which would be restored leading me to believe all of the listed updates are included in the Service Pack:

My entire list of installed Windows updates now consists only of these 6 items:

Could you do that again, with the columns widened, so that the KB #s aren't truncated?

EDIT: Can't be certain, but that list appears to be shorter than the list that I had previously found. I think that would be because your list only contains the updates that were previously installed, or can't be uninstalled, and doesn't include all updates in SP1.

Actually, all of the KB numbers are visible except the first two. The ones that appear truncated, except the first two, have the KB number listed right after the "for_" text, the truncation is the same number on the few that are displayed so, except for the first two. (I can't expand the window of the System Restore Report regarding the "Scan for affected programs" but I can expand the columns (as you requested) to show the top two):

The list is more than likely shorter than the entire list but should be commensurate with any other x64 based system as I've installed every update offered. I did, however, have the SP1 Beta and then the RC installed once each was available possibly affecting the list but I doubt it would affect it much. I never had as many installed updates as are listed to be restored in the previous, longer, screenshot list.
